Our trip to Fulham Palace Museum to learn about The Romans

On our trip to Fulham Palace we learnt about the Romans. Firstly we looked at Roman objects that have been found in the soil under and around The River Thames. For example, they have found bottles, a bit of a leather shoe, pottery and broken clay pipes. We also saw coins from the past and one had a fat Emperor's head on it! The coins were very big (much bigger than the ones that we have today).

Later on, we all got to try on Roman clothes and we started to write about how some of the Roman things felt and looked (we were archaeologists). Jordan dressed up as an Emporor, wearing a toga and Ella was a Roman soldier. The rest of us were Celts or archers, poor Romans, princesses (who wore purple tunics) and blacksmiths.

We really enjoyed our trip and hope to go back again (for the third time!).

Wimbledon and District Synagogue (2)

We learnt about Shabbat the Jewish festival and saw how they prepare to eat supper to celebrate Shabbat.

Our trip to the Wimbledon and District Synagogue

We visited the Synagogue to learn more about the Jewish faith and experience being in their place of worship. Our Religious Education topic is Judaism this term and we've learnt a lot about Jewish celebrations and the layout and important things in a synagogue.

The visit was really great and the Jewish people that taught us were very informative, telling us a lot of interesting facts. They were also extremely impressed with what we knew about their faith and because we were able to answer a lot of their questions!

Tutankhamun Exhibition

We wasn't allowed to take photos in the exhibition so we took this outside. It was so windy we were almost blown away!
