Designing and making healthy sandwiches
For our DT topic we had to design and make healthy sandwiches. Firstly we had to evaluate a range of shop bought sandwiches and rolls. We then had to design our own, thinking about the nutritional content of our sandwiches as well as the way they looked and smelt. It was a lot of fun and we learnt a lot about food safety, hygiene, food preparation and healthy eating.
Thanksgiving Day
In Year 3, we celebrated Thanksgiving Day with a little help from Mrs Stevens (Henry's mum). Mrs Stevens told us why Thanksgiving is such an important festival in America and that it is celebrated by all, not just Christians.
We made pilgrim and Indian hats, ate Pumpkin pie, played a Thanksgiving bingo and thanked God for all our blessings. It was a lovely morning enjoyed by us all.
Our trip to The British Museum to visit the Egyptian Gallery
On December 5th Year 3 went on a very exciting trip to visit the Egyptian Gallery at the British Museum. As we had been learning about the Ancient Egyptians in class it was so amazing to go and see real mummies, statues, jewellery and other artefacts in the museum! Many of the children in Year 3 said it was the best trip they have ever been on!
